Frequently Asked Questions
When is the registration deadline?
Raza Day online registration will remain open until we reach a 400 student capacity.
Is this conference only for high school students? What about parents, guardians, and educators?
While most of our workshops will be designed for high school students, there will be student performances, entertainment, speakers, panels, lunch, and workshops open to non-high school students, parents, guardians, and educators. This year we also have specially designed workshops exclusively for parents, guardians, and educators.
Is this conference only for people who identify as Latino, Chicano, Hispanic, or as person of color?
Short answer is no. We welcome all individuals who are open-minded, respectful, and want to learn about our various workshops. However, please know that our conference is meant to center, amplify, and uplift the experiences of people with marginalized identities. We ask individuals who cannot relate to these experiences to be mindful of our mission and of the space they take up.
Will there be on-site registration for those who did not register online?
This will depend on whether we reach max capacity, at which point we will not be able to do on-site registration. Please check the website for updates concerning registration.
Is there an age limit and/or ID requirements to enter the event?
All minors under 18 years of age must bring a printed waiver, signed by a parent or legal guardian. 16 & 17 year olds can come unaccompanied by adults as long as they bring their completed and signed forms. Youth 15 & under must come with adult supervision, although the adult need not be a parent or guardian (e.g. a 14 year old can come with her 19 year old sister so long as her forms are completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian). If you have any questions about our youth policies, please contact us.
Does registration include any meals?
Yes, registration covers a light breakfast and lunch. We will have vegetarian options available. If you have any additional dietary restrictions, please indicate that in your registration form.
What are my transportation options?
Most parking at Stanford is free on Saturdays. The closest free parking available is at Wilbur Parking Lot and Tressider Parking Lot, which you can find on the Map & Directions. Make sure you read all signs wherever you park. We suggest you invite peers, friends, and family, and carpool with them.
We also highly encourage you to take public transportation. CalTrain is a great option, and our nearest station is Palo Alto. From there it is a 15 min walk to Stanford School of Education. If you have transportation concerns, please contact us and we will do our best to address them.
How can I contact the conference organizers?
All information can be found on the contact us page.
Do I have to bring my printed waiver to the event?
Yes, or you can send us a copy of the signed waiver to our email. We will have limited copies of the waiver on-site but you must have parents/guardians present to sign them.
Will childcare be provided?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide childcare.
Is the building wheelchair accessible?
There are ramps and elevators in all buildings we will be using. If you need assistance, please ask any volunteer present.
Where are the gender neutral bathrooms?
The closest gender neutral bathroom is located on the first floor of the School of Education (the main building our conference will be using).
