ABOUT
Raza Day is a student-run day-long conference where we host students, parents, and educators from all over the Bay Area with the goal of inspiring high school students, especially students from marginalized backgrounds, to pursue higher education and to act for social justice through diverse workshops, powerful keynote addresses, and community.
This year's conference will be hosted at Stanford University (see Map & Directions for more details) on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The conference is entirely FREE with a light breakfast and lunch provided. The conference is organized by MEChA de Stanford, a student organization at Stanford whose purpose is to respond to the social, political, cultural, and educational needs of the Chicanx/Latinx community. We recognize that places like Stanford are not always the most accessible; for many of our members, coming to Stanford (or college at all) was not always a realistic or encouraged option. Now that we are at Stanford, we hope to take advantage of the resources available here and make them accessible for high school youth so that they, too, may see higher education as achievable and meant for them. |
